Passport Renewal Requirements (General)
1. Duly Filled Passport Renewal Form
Most countries provide an official form (e.g., DS-82 in the U.S., Form PPT in India).
Complete it accurately and sign it.
2. Old (Expired or Expiring) Passport
Submit your most recent passport.
It must not be significantly damaged.
3. Recent Passport-Sized Photographs
Usually 2 photos taken within the last 6 months.
Must meet the required specifications (size, background, facial expression, etc.).
4. Proof of Identity
National ID, driver's license, birth certificate, or other government-issued ID.
5. Proof of Citizenship (if required)
Especially for long-expired or damaged passports.
6. Fee Payment
Payment via bank draft, credit/debit card, or postal order.
Check the fee structure on the official passport authority's website.
7. Self-Addressed Return Envelope (if applicable)
For mail-in applications.
Should include correct postage.
8. Appointment (if required)
Some countries require an in-person appointment for biometric data or verification.
